“Execution only comes after one listens and understands. Once one listens and understands, they can grasp something wonderful. They can then see a vision that they can follow or one where they have no choice but to lead.” Dr. G Speaks
There are few things more powerful than a leader who listens. Once you listen and understand, then and only then can you see the vision unfold before you. Getting it done also means getting clarity. If you don’t listen and understand, then execution is impossible. Wise leaders understand that they cannot carry a vision alone.
If you get nothing else from these blog posts, get this: Any vision worth fighting for or achieving is too large for one set of shoulders. It will take several sets of shoulders to carry a vision and see it through to execution. One of the most critical facets of execution is allowing others to share in the vision. Oftentimes, you will have to learn to trust those who appear to be untrustworthy. You may have to work with those you do not like. You may even have to rely on those who appear to be incompetent. Even if all these things ring true, as a wise leader, you can learn to extract or separate what you need and still move forward.
It doesn’t mean that you have to waste your time and energy. It just means that in the execution phase, you will encounter many people with many gifts. You just have to KNOW what you’re looking for and then you can make wise decisions. Remember the steps of Listening, Understanding, and Execution when you are ready to undertake something. These three powerful steps will never lead you in the wrong direction.
Getting it done and handling your business is hard work and you cannot do it alone. Remember, I’m here to help!
